Jake Paul has revealed that his boxing future remains uncertain after suffering a serious jaw injury during his fight against former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua last year.
According to reports, Paul has not been able to spar or return to full training since the Netflix-streamed bout in December 2025, which reportedly earned both fighters massive paydays.
The social media star turned professional boxer in 2020 and primarily competed in the cruiserweight division before taking a major step up to face Joshua, an Olympic gold medalist and former world heavyweight champion.
Joshua knocked out the 29-year-old in the sixth round of the fight, with Paul reportedly suffering fractures in two areas of his jaw. He later underwent surgery, during which several teeth were removed and titanium plates were inserted.
Speaking on the The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul said he is waiting for further medical updates before deciding on his future in the sport.
“I'm getting some new scans in a couple of days of the jaw to get an update on the healing process. We'll see what the doctors say,” Paul said.
He added that he still requires a dental implant and has not yet been medically cleared to spar again.
“I definitely need to get cleared to be able to spar,” he added.
Paul also admitted that the possibility of never fighting again remains on the table depending on the upcoming medical results.
Meanwhile, Joshua is expected to return to the ring later this year, with reports continuing to link him to a potential blockbuster fight against Tyson Fury.
