A man has been left with serious injuries following a brutal knife attack in north Belfast that shocked residents and prompted a major police response.
The incident took place on Kinnaird Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, with emergency services rushing to the scene after reports of a stabbing. Police confirmed that one man was taken to hospital with serious injuries while another man was arrested and remains in custody.
Disturbing footage circulating on social media appeared to show the suspect attacking the victim on the ground as horrified bystanders screamed and attempted to intervene. Witnesses could be heard shouting for help while several people rushed toward the scene in an effort to stop the assault.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said officers are continuing their investigation and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage to come forward. Police are expected to maintain a presence in the area as enquiries continue.

Doran said the public would expect a thorough investigation and stressed that there could be no tolerance for such violence on Belfast's streets.
DUP MLA Jonathan Buckley also urged calm while police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, saying his thoughts were with the injured victim and his family.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding a possible motive, and no charges had been announced as of Tuesday morning. Police have urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation remains ongoing.
