Zayn Malik thanked fans after kicking off the opening night of his highly anticipated Konnakol Tour, marking a major comeback moment for the singer following recent health struggles and tour cancellations.

The former One Direction star performed at London’s O2 Arena on Friday night as fans welcomed him back to the stage during the first show of the global tour supporting his fifth studio album Konnakol.

Following the concert, Malik shared an emotional message for fans, expressing gratitude for the support he received during the difficult weeks leading up to the tour.

The singer had earlier cancelled multiple U.S. tour dates and postponed several shows after revealing he had been hospitalised due to an undisclosed health issue.

Despite concerns surrounding his health, fans praised Malik’s return to the stage, with videos from the opening night quickly circulating across social media platforms.

Concert attendees described the performance as emotional and deeply personal, especially as Malik performed tracks from Konnakol, an album inspired partly by his South Asian roots and experimental musical influences.

The Konnakol Tour marks Malik’s second solo tour and follows the success of his earlier Stairway to the Sky Tour. The 2026 tour was initially planned as his biggest global run before several dates were revised earlier this year.

Fans online flooded social media with support for the singer after the show, with many calling the opening night one of his strongest solo performances to date.

Malik first rose to global fame as part of One Direction before launching a solo career in 2016 with the hit single Pillowtalk. Since then, he has released multiple studio albums blending R&B, alternative pop and experimental influences.
