FBI to Release UFO Files Soon as Trump-Ordered Declassification Moves Forward
By admin@nexusnews.local · May 6, 2026
Trump cited growing public interest as the reason behind the move
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is set to release its first batch of files related to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs, in the coming days, as part of a broader declassification effort ordered earlier this year.
The documents, detailing potential UAP encounters, have already been submitted to an interagency review committee established by the White House. Officials say the material will be made available to the public “in the near future,” marking a significant step in the government’s transparency push on the long-debated issue.
FBI Confirms Initial Disclosure
In an interview on the podcast of Sean Hannity, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that the bureau has completed its initial submission.
“We have already delivered our first tranche of information to that committee, and they’re going to be publicly releasing this information very soon,” Patel said. “We are fully supportive of this process. There’s nothing in this subject that we’re discussing that we don’t want released.”
Patel added that the Department of Defense is overseeing the review and release process, with relevant materials handed over to teams at the Pentagon.
No Confirmation of Extraterrestrial Evidence
Addressing speculation surrounding alleged alien encounters, Patel said he had no information confirming whether the U.S. government had ever recovered extraterrestrial bodies from reported incidents.
“The public asked for these documents—we provided them to the appropriate authorities, and they will be released,” he said.
Trump’s Declassification Order
The disclosure effort follows a directive issued by Donald Trump in February 2026, ordering federal agencies to begin identifying and declassifying records related to UFOs and potential extraterrestrial activity.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump cited growing public interest as the reason behind the move.
“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I have directed the relevant departments and agencies to begin the process of identifying and releasing government files related to unidentified phenomena and extraterrestrial life,” he wrote.
Growing Public Interest in UFO Transparency
The upcoming release is expected to draw widespread attention, as public curiosity around UFOs and government secrecy has intensified in recent years. While officials have emphasized transparency, they have also cautioned that the documents may not provide definitive answers about the existence of extraterrestrial life.
The timeline for the full release remains unclear, but officials indicate that additional batches of documents could follow in the coming months.
