Prince George is a teenager. William and Kate marked their eldest child's 13th birthday on July 22 with a new portrait posted to the Wales family's official Instagram account — George in a dark blazer and white shirt, the family's traditional way of marking a birthday since he was small.
The bigger royal moment, though, came ten days earlier. At the Wimbledon men's final on July 12, George and his sister Charlotte sat with their parents in the Royal Box to watch World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defend his title. Afterward, Sinner turned to the two children and asked whether they play tennis every day. Their answer was refreshingly ordinary: usually just on weekends.
A rare public exchange
George is famously the most guarded of the Wales children when it comes to public appearances — Wimbledon and the Commonwealth Games remain two of the only fixtures where he's reliably seen and, occasionally, heard. The brief tennis exchange was one of the few times the public has heard him speak on camera at all.
