Robert Lewandowski is preparing to bring his Barcelona journey to an end, with the Polish striker expected to leave the Spanish club after the current season.
The veteran forward shared an emotional farewell message with supporters through social media, calling his time at Barcelona one of the most meaningful experiences of his professional career.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 and quickly became one of the team’s most important attacking players. During his spell with the Catalan side, he consistently delivered goals and leadership, helping the club compete for major domestic honours.
The striker thanked Barcelona fans for welcoming him from the moment he arrived and also expressed appreciation to club president Joan Laporta for his support throughout his stay.
Since making the move to Spain, Lewandowski has featured in 191 matches for Barcelona and scored 119 goals across all competitions. His performances placed him among the club’s highest scorers in history and cemented his status as one of the most influential forwards of his era.
His debut campaign at Barcelona proved especially successful. During the 2022/23 season, Lewandowski played a major role in helping the team secure both the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup. He finished that season with 33 goals in 46 appearances and also won the Pichichi Trophy after ending the league campaign as Spain’s top scorer with 23 goals.
The most productive season of his Barcelona career came in 2024/25, when he found the net 42 times in 52 appearances in all competitions. This season, he has already added another 18 goals to his tally.
Before arriving at Barcelona, Lewandowski enjoyed a glittering career in European football. Over the years, he represented clubs including Delta Warsaw, Znicz Pruszkow, Lech Poznan, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, becoming one of the most decorated strikers of the modern era.
Although his next destination has not been officially confirmed, reports continue to link the Polish star with a possible move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, which is reportedly prepared to offer him a lucrative contract. Italian giants AC Milan have also emerged as potential contenders for his signature.
Several global football stars have already moved to Saudi Arabia in recent years, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Neymar, highlighting the league’s growing influence in world football.
